What are SAPs?

 

SAPs (Standard Assessment Procedure) are a methodology used by government to assess and compare the energy and environmental performance of dwellings.

 

SAPs are used on:

New Homes, Extensions with more than 25% of glazing to floor area, Barn Conversions, Commercial to Domestic Conversions, Conversion single dwelling into flats or apartments.

Which Professionals need to use SAPs?

 

Architects, Builders, Developers, Local Authorities.

NB: Homes built post APRIL 2014 need a “Fabric Energy Efficiency” . This is different to a SAP.
